!FAMILY HISTORY Isaac Barton served as Justice of the Peace, constable, assessor, and tax collector at various times in Atlas Township.
!CITED in notes from the letters of Thomas H. Barton (BART269) in possession of Gary Barton. "Isaac left home at about 14 to move to Indiana where some of his brothers had settled; and then to Pike County, Illinois, in 1847. He was married in Pittsfield, Illinois, on February 15, 1848. My father knew Isaac and Rachel, his grandparents, quite well, and the family has recorded many notes of their early life in Indiana and Illinois. Isaac and his wife lived to have their Golden Wedding Celebration at Pittsfield, Illinois, in 1898. Most of their children and grandchildren attended the 30day celebration in a golorious houseparty and family reunion."
