    Daniel Bartron petitioned the government of Upper Canada for a patent of 200 acres of land. He asserted (1) he was the son of James Barton now residing in Pennsylvania (2) he was the eldest of six brothers (3) his father had joined the Royal Standard in 1778 and served in the regiment commanded by Col. Barton (4) he and his father came into the Province of Upper Canada in 1786 to settle in the new Township of Stamford west of the [Niagra] Falls (5) he also has six sisters, most of them married (6) one brother [David] is now with him
