!POLITICS Elected Judge in Dodge City KS 1880
- D. Welborn "Doc" Barton's real first name was Doctor (which he did not regularly use). He picked up the nickname "Doc" when he delivered his wife Belle's second child during a trail ride. He was not a Medical Doctor (unlike his uncle and likely namesake Welborn Barton, M. D. (ID #7956).
