      !MILITARY War of 1812: Cited in Barton Roll of Honor, compiled by Carl James Barton, first ed. 2001 "In David's Bounty Land files, it shows that he was a Private in a company commanded by Captain Jeptha Norton's, Company of Drafted Militia, commanded by Llieutenant Colonel William Austin's South Carolina Regiment of Militia. It further states that he was drafted at Two Sisters Ferry South Carolina for a term of six months and appears on the muster rolls for said company/regiment. He never received a discharge. Enlisted on 1 Feb 1815 and mustered on 25 Feb 1815. On 24 March 1815, David received $14 and 19 cents for his military service of one month and 24 days.
