!MILITARY Civil War 1861-1865 Cited in Barton Roll of Honor, compiled by Carl James Barton, first ed. 2001 "CSA. Enlisted on 7 Jan 1862 at Camp Moore, Charleston, South Carolina. Records also indicate he enlisted on 22 Nov 1861 at Greenville, South Carolina. Served as a Private in Company D, 16th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry. Wounded at Marretta, Georgia. Hospitalized and released from the hospital on 22 June 1864 and sent on 60 days convalescents leave. Records show that he was absent without leave since 19 August 1864.
